NEWS:   Italian-Uzbek joint venture for the production of shoes will be established in Uzbekistan .

11 February 2015

-  Italian manufacturers are planning to launch production of Italian fashion shoes in Uzbekistan under the trademark "Made in Italy".

This was reported by Information Agency "Jahon" with reference to a number of electronic information agencies of Italy - Carriera Adriatico, Infofermo, Informazione and Fermonotizie.

In particular, as the agency Carriera Adriatico says, the Italian Association of Confartigianato is promoting the project with the participation of the shoe industry companies from the Italian city Fermo. This project started on the basis of cooperation of "Uzbekcharimpoyabzali" Association and "Italy-Uzbekistan" Chamber of Commerce, with a goal to attract Italian manufacturers of women's footwear to the country.

According to the Fermonotizie agency, the market research on local markets to determine prices and the ration between the price and quality of women's shoes, that was carried out by Italian specialists, showed that Uzbekistan possess not only a large domestic market for the products of the brand "Made in Italy», but also good conditions for their production.

In turn, Infofermo and Informazione news agencies reported that in the first stage for effective entry into the market, it was decided to create a network of companies, as well as a comprehensive development plan was approved, which includes checking the initial reaction of the local market to the samples of leather products, footwear and leather goods, which are 100% manufactured in Italy.

The second phase of the project includes direct involvement of a number of companies of Uzbekistan - members of the "Uzbekcharmpoyabzali" Association for the finishing and final packaging of products in the country.

Italian media are hoping that in the future, the being established Italian-Uzbek joint venture will be able to produce up to 6 million pairs of shoes a year, both for the domestic market and for export.
