NEWS: Bukhara to host "Silk and Spices" festival .

- "Silk and Spices" festival is going to be held in Bukhara from May 28 to June 1. This unique festival is being organized with the purpose of preservation and promotion of national cultural heritage of the people.
This year festival will include a demonstration of school of miniatures of Bukhara, gijduvon ceramics, coinage of Bukhara masters and crafts, handloom silk (ikat), silk carpets, gold embroidery and jewelry. Along with this, it is planned to hold an international scientific-practical conference on the topic "Prospects of the tourist center of Bukhara, as part of the Silk Road."
The event will be attended by craft masters and guests from Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, as well as the cities of Uzbekistan - Bukhara, Samarkand, Nukus, Margilan, Kokand, Shakhrisabz, Andijan, Khiva and Rishtan.
Due to the large number of participants and guests, the festival allows to draw the public attention to the distinctive, unique crafts, to demonstrate masterpieces of local artists, as well as to acquaint visitors with the traditions and customs of the Uzbek people.
