NEWS: Enterprises of light industry of Uzbekistan in 2014 produced goods worth 10.56 trillion soums.

- Implementation of measures for the production of import-substituting and export-oriented production in Uzbekistan ensures the continuation of the dynamic development of light industry.
Thus, companies in this sector, during 2014 produced goods in the amount of 10.56 trillion soums or 116.1% to the corresponding period of the last year.
The share of the sector in total industry of the country made up 14%, which exceed the previous year by 0.8%.
During January-December 2014 textile enterprises produced goods for the amount of 7.8 trillion soums (112.7% compared to January-December 2013), including cotton industry enterprises for 2.26 trillion soums (123.1%), knitting for 720.4 billion soums (115.8%), silk for 117 billion soums (114.6%).
The growth rate of the clothing industry amounted to 129%, leather and footwear to 120.5%.
